What the original report actually says
| Item | June Demo report |
|---|---|
| Grinder and polisher | Placed on the rack using placement mode |
| Shovel, metal detector and crowbar | Did not appear to attach in that player’s test |
| Flashlight | A reply wished it would fit; this is not a compatibility test |
The useful reply is by BlackBeltPanda on June 30. It reports using R for placement mode. This is one player’s observation in the Demo period, not a complete official rack specification.[1]
Try one supported item first
- Start with a grinder or polisher rather than a shovel.
- Use your placement-mode binding. The old report used R; the developer also added remappable controls in Settings.
- Check the placement preview and the prompt on your current build.
- If that item places successfully, test another separately rather than assuming all tools fit.
The keybinding point comes from the developer’s controls update.[2] The choice to change one item at a time is our troubleshooting suggestion; it helps separate a placement-mode problem from an unsupported item.
If nothing attaches
Check the item, your placement binding and the exact prompt. A displayed use option alone is not proof that placement succeeded—the original question described precisely that confusion.[1]
If your Early Access build behaves differently, keep a screenshot of the preview and version. Do not rely on this old report as a reason to discard a useful tool. The treasure task needs its own detector and shovel regardless of whether you store them on a rack.
